Coached, with room for your own goals

Coaches lead a structured session, with activities adapted to different abilities. Join in with the group or work more independently on your own goals, with coaching available. This also suits participants bringing experience from cheer or other disciplines.

What does a session look like?

1. Warm up & stretch

Start together with a group warm-up and stretch, preparing for the skills ahead.

2. Build the foundations

Practise movement basics such as jumps, tiptoe walking, hurdle steps and needle kicks, followed by rolls, cartwheels, handstands and round-offs. Coaches adapt the exercises and teaching to your ability, using supportive equipment where helpful.

3. Work towards your skills

Choose what you would like to achieve, from a cartwheel or handstand to a round-off or flick. Coaches group similar goals and abilities where possible, so you can practise at a suitable level.

4. Finish with conditioning

Spend 5–10 minutes on focused conditioning for your core, legs, shoulders and back, developing the strength and body shapes used in gymnastics skills.

Equipment for your session

Sprung floor, springboard, trampette, trampoline into the foam pit, a rig over the trampoline, foam pit and vault.

Adult sessions focus on floor, tumbling and the equipment listed here. Bars and beam are not available for artistic gymnastics in this session.
