Welsh squad member Cerys McIntosh to join Quayside as gymnast and coach following October’s Trampoline League Finals
Quayside Trampoline & Gymnastics Club is celebrating an outstanding weekend at the 2026 Welsh Trampoline Championships in Cardiff, with Theo Gundry-White claiming individual gold before joining forces with Welsh squad gymnast Cerys McIntosh to take the senior synchronised title.
Competing in the Senior Men’s Platinum Open, Quayside’s Gundry-White produced a strong second routine to score 54.370, including 14.4 difficulty, to take the gold medal.
The result continued an impressive season for Theo, a member of the Great Britain Senior Trampoline Development Squad and one of Quayside’s leading senior gymnasts and coaches.
There was further success when Theo partnered Edgbarrow Trampoline Club’s Cerys McIntosh in the 17+ Level 2 Open Synchronised Trampoline competition.
The pair produced scores of 36.070 and 45.390 for an overall total of 81.460, securing the gold medal.
Cerys also enjoyed individual success in Cardiff, taking silver in the Senior Women’s Platinum Welsh Championship, scoring 49.440.
The performances provided excellent preparation for both gymnasts ahead of the upcoming British Championships, where Theo and Cerys will return to national competition against some of the strongest performers in the country.
The weekend was particularly significant for Quayside as Cerys is set to become a permanent member of the Bridgwater-based club’s performance programme later this year.
A member of the Welsh Trampoline Squad, Cerys has spent her career with the highly respected Edgbarrow Trampoline Club and has been splitting her training between Edgbarrow and Quayside over recent months.
Cerys is moving to the Weston-super-Mare area and, following the Trampoline League Finals in Derby on 24–25 October, will officially join Quayside as both a senior gymnast and coach.
Quayside Performance Manager Carl Hall said:
“It’s been a really successful weekend for both Theo and Cerys.
“Theo responded extremely well after his first routine didn’t go to plan. To come back and produce a 54.370 routine with 14.4 difficulty shows the level he is now operating at and the progress he continues to make.
“Cerys also performed very well individually and it was great to see the two of them win the synchro competition together.
“These performances are also great preparation for them both ahead of the British Championships. It gives them confidence and another valuable competition under their belts before one of the biggest events of the season.
“We’ve really enjoyed having Cerys training with us alongside her programme at Edgbarrow over the last few months. She is an experienced senior gymnast, a Welsh squad member and also brings a lot to the gym as a coach.
“She has obviously had many years of development and support at Edgbarrow, and we have a great deal of respect for the work they have done with her.
“Her move to Weston means Quayside will become her new home club after the League Finals, and we’re delighted that she’ll be joining us both as a gymnast and as part of our coaching team.
“Adding another senior international-level athlete and coach to the training environment is really positive for our younger gymnasts too. They get to see that standard of training, preparation and professionalism every week.”
Theo and Cerys will now turn their attention to the British Championships, before continuing through the final major competitions of the 2026 season, including the Trampoline League Finals in Derby on 24–25 October.
