It was a very successful first day for the GB Junior Trampoline Gymnasts at the European Trampoline, Tumbling and DMT Championships which were held in Rimini Italy last week.
All 8 gymnasts (4 Male 4 Female) finished in the top 24 after completion of the competition. With the 3 per Country rule only the top 3 placed Males and Females progressed through to the semi finals later in the week.
Both Teams progressed through to the Team Final with the Male GB Team in 2nd place and Females in 5th.
Men’s junior trampoline team finish top of the pile
In both junior men’s and women’s trampoline team finals, there were three rounds with one GBR gymnast competing in each.
With five teams in the final, the team that finished in 1st place in each round would win 5 points for their country, 2nd would take 4 points, 3rd would win 3 points, 4th 2 points and 5th 1 point.It was the same point scoring system in the men’s final, and Britain weren’t to be denied a second gold of the day.
Will Sheridan got the men’s team off to the perfect start, replicating what he had done during qualifying with a near faultless routine to give GBR five points in the first round.
Keir Davidson was the second gymnast up and maintained his focus excellently, finishing in second place, amounting to four more points towards the team total to leave them in first place going into the final round.
Theo Gundry-White competed last in the final for Britain he secured a vital point for the team which would see them crowned champions.

In the men’s junior trampoline semi final, Will Sheridan finished third place , Keir Davidson and Theo Gundry-White finished in 15th and 18th respectively.
This has been fantastic International experience for Theo who is looking forward to building on this in his next competition where he will represent Great Britain in the Nissan Cup, Switzerland on 2nd/3rd July 2022.
